Reacting to a report that appeared in a local daily May 28, the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) Tuesday pointed that the two clerks including assistant superintendent, Zhavekholu Epao and UDA, Phutoli Sema were placed under suspension due to misuse of official position and tampering some answer scripts of NCS, NPS and allied services (main) examination 2008 and lecturer’s recruitment examination, 2008. Stating that the action was based on “material and irrefutable evidence” that came to light after the commission carried out scrutiny of evaluated answer scripts of all the candidates who qualified for viva voce of that examinations, the NPSC secretary, Dellirose M Sakhrie in a statement said the commission immediately placed “erring staff” under suspension and also nullified the candidature of 11 candidates and debarred them from appearing any examination for the next three years. The commission also filed FIR with the police, who are now investigating the matter, it said. Meanwhile, the NPSC also urged press fraternity to exercise utmost prudence and refrain from publishing “unsubstantiated versions which are misleading” until investigation completed and truth revealed. It may be mentioned that Kohima police had arrested two suspended staff of NPSC on suspension of their involvement in the switching of answer papers for the NPSC examinations.
