: Agitated by non payment of salary, the teachers under DIS Niuland June 8 gathered in large number at DIS Niuland office and submitted representation to the DIS urging him to take up the matter with higher authority for immediate release of pending salary within one week’s period. “The teachers have resolved to start picketing by June 15 next,” “Convening Body of Teachers” chairman, Vitoho said in a release and pointed out that if the authority fail to comply with their request the teachers would resort to agitation, where the concerned authority would be held responsible if any untoward incidents occur to teachers and their families. Claiming that some teachers have been paid with salary while some were not, the teachers said such attitude shown by the responsible department was a “pure discrimination and bias”, and demanded that same yardstick should be applied to all the teachers since all the teachers are equally dedicated to their service. The teachers were deprived of their salaries despite giving their best service for the interest of the students, they said, adding in connection with this, ‘Convening Body of Teachers under DIS Niuland’ convened a meeting at town hall, Niuland on June 6 wherein hundreds of teachers under Niuland attended and reiterated their demand for early release of salary to teachers. Meanwhile, DIS Niuland has informed all teachers under DIS Nuiland to appear before SIT during physical verification with documents on June 12 and 13, 9 a.m. at DIS office, Dimapur.
