Farm Information and Advisory Centre (FIAC) attached to Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer under ATMA was inaugurated on June 25 by Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Akhuluto, Robert Longchari. The chief guest in his speech appreciated the Project Director, Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Zunheboto and Block Technology Team (BTT) members for the efforts in setting up the first FIAC in the district. He lamented on the trend of declining work culture in the society while the population was increasing by leaps. He also pointed out the fact that when 80% of the Naga population is said to be farmers by profession yet 90% of the food requirements were imported from outside. The chief guest urged the farmers to avail the facilities to their advantage. Meanwhile District Soil Conservative Officer (DCSO) & Project Director, ATMA, Zunheboto, Zhekheto highlighted the aims and objectives and mode of operation of ATMA in detail.
Later an interactive session was held between the farmers and BTT members, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Atoi Sema, Dr Apilo from Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Tokato, Fishery department, Anito, Sericulture department and Agriculture Officer David Sumi.
