Rotary new team inducted in Mokokchung

The 34th Installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Mokokchung was held here at Rotary House Mokokchung. The installation was carried out by Rotarian R.S Paneshar Assistant Governor Zone – 9 R.I Dist. 3240 who attended the ceremony as the installing officer. After installing the new team of Rotarians for the tenure 2009-10, R.S. Paneshar in his speech expressed his hope that the new team would take Rotary Club of Mokokchung to newer heights of excellence. He also lauded the contributions made by the Club for the welfare of the district and also added that the club would continue with the services of the people. The installation ceremony was graced by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung C.M. Tsanglao as chief guest who was also inducted as an honorary member to the club at the ceremony. Calling upon the members of the club to strive towards the poor and the needy people of the society, the DC also stressed about the importance of giving rather than receiving and added “whatever we give remains with us forever, but whatever we receive, we loss it”. The DC also expressed his hope that the club would with hands joined together with administration towards the welfare of the people particularly the needy and the poor. The Rotarians for the tenure 2009-10 would be led by Tsukti Lkr as the President, N. Alley as the Vice-President, Maniraj Rai as the General Secretary, Temsukaba as the Assistant General Secretary besides others. The incoming President, Tsukti Lkr in his speech vowed to work towards the eradication of Polio and to assist people with disabilities. He also sought the active support and co-operation of the people so that the aims and objectives of the Rotary International are achieved. The outgoing President Chandan Roy in his speech thanked all for the support that was extended during his tenure. He also wished the best for the new team of Rotarians in all their endeavors.
