Planning commission visits state

A two-member team of the Union Planning Commission Dr. G. Thulasi and Dr. Nilendu Maitra visited state department of veterinary and animal husbandry from June 29 to July 1 and interacted with department officials. The delegates felt that department was delivering adequate services to farmers of state and suggested various ways to approach the deficiencies faced by the department. They assured full support and recommendations to the appropriate authority at their level. The team also visited Dairy farm, Dairy federation and Liquid Nitrogen plant at Lerie. During their visit several interactions took place with regard to cooperative societies of Dairy farmers. They encouraged the cause as the cooperation was involving women societies especially women societies of Jotsoma and Khonoma. The commission team also visited the farms run by the department and private entrepreneurs. They also interviewed various farmers at the village level and had serious discussions with the farmers and pointed out positive steps to be familiar with. The training on infertility was conducted at Khonoma where Dr. G Thulasi exhorted women farmers and encouraged them to carry on with their activities in relation with the department of veterinary and animal husbandry. The training culminated with vote of thanks by Dr. Joseph M Angami.
