Drawing attention to the demand of IAS Officers’ Association (IOA) Nagaland to withdraw threat on additional chief secretary, Banuo Z Jamir and other senior officers , NSCN (K) “National political Advisory Council member Lt. Col (Rtd)” Kiyekhu Awomi Wednesday clarified that he had not spoken specifically “ in the interest of the bogus teacher”. Kiyekhu stated that the department had issued appointment on ad hoc basis and later extended their services for a six-monthly period while in some, issued temporary (regular) appointment. He said appointments made on adhoc basis against old posts created was under investigation and salaries of teachers under probe by the SIT were withheld. On the other hand, those appointed as evaluation officer, monitoring officer, planning officer and proof reader were given extension and enjoying salaries adding it was “partial and not fair.” Kiyekhu said after approval of secretaries, the director appointed the teachers after procedures and the services extended “continuously” for two to three years. Services in the department should be at par with the above mentioned. He said if teachers were terminated, thousands of families would suffer and for whose rights he had voiced. Kiyekhu said the “serious misinterpretation should be rectified that this category of teachers cannot be considered bogus” adding, voicing his concern needed no explanation or to tender withdrawal of the letter.
