NSF condemns threat

Regretting that certain “vested individual” in the name of “national workers” was resorting to every means to sabotage the on-going investigation in bogus teacher employment and threatening additional chief secretary, Banuo Z Jamir, the NSF strongly expressed resentment and condemned “such designs and practices” perpetrated on the people solely for their “vested interest.” Affirming that it fully believed education as the backbone of the society and the best agency for social transformation, the NSF general secretary O Wati Jamir and secretary education Ahito Achumi in a joint statement issued here Thursday said that those at education department have more responsibility to shoulder and urged to leave no stone unturned to eradicate the obstacle hampering development of education. Also, lauding the efforts of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the federation in the interest of students’ community urged the state government and SIT to bring about the investigation into “logical conclusion.” The federation recalled that despite of various investigations into anomalies in different government departments, the state was thriving with corruption due to lack of corrective measures and punitive action against the culprit, adding that the real culprits were scot-free within the department. The federation also felt it necessary that government investigate other departments applying same modus operandi by maintaining the same yard stick to cleanse corruption.
