Maruti rolls out new advanced version of Vitara

Strengthening further its hold on the automobile market of India, Maruti Suzuki has rolled out new advanced version of its high-end sports utility vehicle Grand Vitara. Substituting the older less powerful 119.5 bhp 2.0-litre VIS engine, the new advanced version Maruti Grand Vitara comes powered with 2.4-litre petrol engine with VVT (Variable Valve Timing) technology, delivering maximum power of 163.5 bhp at 6000 rpm and a torque of 225 NM at 4000 rpm. The new Grand Vitara 2.4 has been released in two variants — 5-speed Manual Transmission and 4-speed Automatic Transmission. According to the Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Mayank Pareek, the new Grand Vitara 2.4, with more power, is the best in class 4X4 drive at a highly competitive price. Featuring 4-mode, 4-wheel drive, the new Grand Vitara 2.4 is equipped with superior disc brakes in the rear wheels ensuring additional safety. The new advanced SUV sports new Multi Information Display (MID) for providing easy-to-read and accurate vehicle info, such as cruising range, average speed, instantaneous fuel consumption, “low-fuel” warning, etc. The new Grand Vitara 2.4 comes with a slew of new features that makes the SUV better than before. With new front grille and front bumper, along with the 17-inch alloy wheels, the SUV looks more stylish and sleeker than before. The new upgraded SUV features the upgraded audio system including a 6-disc CD changer coupled with an additional centre speaker on the dashboard delivering excellent surround sound effect. The new SUV also features redesigned power train for reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels, and sliding centre-console armrest delivering more comfort to passengers. The new Grand Vitara 2.4 is priced between Rs 16.67 lakh and Rs 17.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
