Naga common platform

Taking a step further in the ongoing effort for reconciliation and unity among different sections and groups, a Naga Common Platform was formed Saturday in a consultative meeting held at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima. The Naga common platform which is yet to obtain its proper nomenclature will be headed by advocate Timikha Koza as chairman and Chuba Ozukum as member secretary with a member each from all Naga tribal Hohos and frontal organizations. The decision arrived at a consultative meeting which was convened as a follow up of the earlier March 5 to 7 Naga consultative meet where the Nagas had resolved to form a common platform of the Nagas. Saturday’s consultative meeting which was convened by DAN Political Affairs Committee (PAC) attended by all ten DAN PAC members, representatives from Naga Hoho, ENPO, NCF, FNR and UNC. PAC convenor Dr. TM Lotha disclosed this while talking to Nagaland Post over phone after the meeting. He also termed today’s meet as a follow up meeting of earlier Naga Consultative Meeting and also to review the resolutions adopted earlier. Saying that suitable nomenclature of the Naga Common Platform was yet to be worked out, PAC convenor said invitation would soon be sent to all the Naga tribal Hohos and frontal organizations including Naga Hoho, ENPO, UNC and NMA to nominate a representative to be member of the Naga common platform. He also said that another meeting would soon be convened to thrust out the remaining task.
