: Leader of Opposition, Chingwang Konyak said that the state government should formulate a policy, while carrying out recruitment processes in various departments and also demanded that transparency be maintained in the recruitments. Raising supplementary questions, Chingwang felt that the particular officer of the district should be not be part of the recruitment and suggested inclusion of the para-military officials as members of the recruitment. He also alleged that serious cases of corruptions were going on where huge sum of money was being paid to get jobs in almost all departments. Earlier, the State home minister Imkong L Imchen admitted that the state government had received complaint with regard to recruitment of Women Police (IR) Bn in Mon district. In his written reply, the minister informed the house that the nature of complaints received by the department was alleged impersonation committed by some of the selected candidates during the Mahila (IR) Battalion recruitment in the district. The home minister also said that a committee was constituted at PHQ headed by IGP (HQ) and re-conducted the handwriting test of all the selected candidates at PHQ on 29/5/2009 as there has been cases of complaints of impersonation during the recruitment test. However, the candidates refused to write anything beyond their names, chest number and signature. The committee with the help of handwriting expert made comparison of the writings with answer scripts of the selected candidates and it was found that candidates bearing chest numbers 99, 116, 461 and 583 were highly suspicious, as they could hardly write their names, chest numbers and sign correctly. Basing on the findings of the committee, Commandant 15th (IR) Mahila Bn have been instructed to put the above four candidates to another handwriting tests to prove genuineness of the candidates. Appointment order shall be issued only after the suspicion of impersonation is cleared.
