Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Tuesday alleged that coal quota, to a tune of 50,000 MT, meant for Nagaland under Small and Tiny Common quota scheme have been “dishonestly and fraudulently” diverted to Punjab for the benefit of few “vested interest privileged people” amounting to few crores of rupees. Maintaining that it firmly believed in corrupt free governance and towards this objective it has been consistently “vociferous on all corrupt activities of the DAN Government,” the NPCC vice president (admn) Zacilh Vadeo in a release said DAN Government was “marred with financial scams after scams”. Underscoring that this “financial irregularity” was a serious issue affecting the Naga people, the NPCC demanded people involved in this scandal be brought to full public knowledge and thorough investigation be carried out immediately. Further, it demanded to book all the culprits and accord appropriate punishment as per law of the land.
