Rs. 20 crores allocation for the activities in the government and non-governmental sector to make the youth suitable for the job market and help them earn sustainable livelihood and gain formal employment. Next Road Show to be held on July 29-30 at Tuensang and another at Mokokchung on August 1-2 coinciding with Tsungremong festival. Food for all by 2020 and the focus during 2009-10 given to APMC and agri-link roads. During 2009-2010, the Government would focus on state pig breeding farms, setting up veterinary college and integrated livestock development. By end of 2009 production of flowers to touch 45 lakh stems of roses and anthurium. Rs. 17. 06 crores for control of shifting cultivation under soil and water conservation during 2010 and upgradation of Training centre at Zubza for integrated land development. On fishery; priority will be given to developing of community fisheries and water bodies including development of fishery in the Doyang HEP reservoir during 2009-2010. More focus on development of underdeveloped districts to bring them at par with rest of the state. On Forest; State Government to take measures to conserve medicinal plants, project for addressing climate change and achieving ecological balance and Government committed to protect all the reserved forests and sanctuaries in the state. On Cooperation department; to rehabilitate State Cooperative Marketing and Consumers Federation Ltd (MARCOFED) through expert consultancy. Land resources department to strive for judicious utilization of natural resources and take up activities to enhance productivity, profitability and sustainability of farming. Rural Development to focus on promotion of micro finance activities in villages through VDBs. National Rural Employment Guarantee Schema (NREGS) implemented in 11 districts and to allocate Rs. 16 crores as state share. On Irrigation and Flood Control; 74 minor projects shall be completed with 2009-2010 creating 4748 hectares of irrigation potential. During 2009-2010, power department would focus to improvement of transmission and distribution systems and communitisation. During 2009-2010, Rs.4.5 crore earmarked for development and production of Eri silk. Under department of geology and mining, Coal deposits to be utilized for thermal power plants and exploration of limestone deposits during the current year. The department of Roads and bridges, during 2009-2010, a total of Rs.33. 48 crores earmarked under state plan for development of various roads and construction of bridges. The transport department will introduce Maxi Cab/ TATA sumo servcies and Rs. 5 crores earmarked for construction of helipads at various locations to improve air connectivity in the state. The department of law and justice will be constructing district court complex and customary courts in the EAC HQ during 2009-2010. Tourism department will continue to focus on communitization on rural tourism. Under school education department, Rs. 5 crores to give further impetus to communitisation of educational institutions. Under Department of Higher Education science laboratories to be set up in four government colleges, establish an Indian Institute of Management at Chümukedima and a school of International language at Kohima. Government approval accorded for starting degree Civil Engineering courses at Khelhoshe Polytechnic. Under Health Sector funds provided for improving amenities and facilities at Naga Hospital Kohima and for purchase of machinery and equipment for district hospitals and Rs. 1 crore to provide lodging facilities to the patients at Guwahati. Department of PHE to complete water supply metering system in capital town. Under Rural water supply programme 126 villages to be provided water supply while 250 villages to be communitised. In Urban Development sector Rs 10 crores earmarked for amenities to small and medium towns and administrative headquarters and Rs 10 crores for Master Plan for a Modern Township at Peren. # Labour Department to provide health insurance cover to Below Poverty Line workers in unorganised sector and their families. Under Youth Resources & Sports sector, Rs 5 crores earmarked for Cricket Ground at Sovima. Government to continue its initiatives in fostering excellence in sports and harnessing the talent and potential of youths, that has yielded results at regional, national and international levels. North East Council (NEC) agreed to introduce Dr. T Ao football trophy for the NEC constituent states.
