STSSU: Singti Town Sangtam Students’ Union (STSSU) has denounced the press statement made by “Justin Khatomong so called self proclaimed seasonal chairman of All Area Sangtam Students’ Union (AASSIJ)” stating the declaration does not exist within the Sangtam community. The press communiqué also stated that Khatomong was nobody to nullify the resolution adopted by USSC during the 3rd presidential meeting.
Justifying that the USSC was the only apex students’ organization of Sangtam, the STSSU president said the existence of AASSU does not arise and further appealed to all the local unions to condemn such act. It has also made known to all that United Sangtam Students’ Conference came into being on December 27, 1948 declaring its headquarter in Kiphire and sub-headquarter at Longkhim, however, the release said the so called All Area Sangtarn Students’ Union had nothing to do which they proclaimed on June 24 after meeting held on June 20 at DUDA guest house, Kohima. The release further added the STSSU shall abide by the Constitution of USSC and continue to extend its cooperation to the present dynamic leaders.
NRVSU: New Risethsi Village Students’ Union (NRVSU) has expressed shocked on learning the development All Area Sangtam Students’ Union (AASSIJ) by few vested persons after having meeting on June 20 at DUDA guest house, Kohima and the press statement published on June 24, and expressed it was nothing but to tarnish the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC).
Vice president, NRVSU, T. Tsipongse Sangtam, in a press communiqué also alleged that the motive of the AASSU in “nullifying” the resolutions adopted in 3rd USSC presidential meet was an act to over rule to its apex body, rather the existence of AASSU ought to be null and void because the apex body of the Sangtam community was not aware of “mushrooming” of AASSU.
The NRVSU further declared its untiring support to USSC and appealed the readers not to be misled by the propaganda.
