Awareness on global warming, climatic change

Tree plantation was carried during the fourth day of National Integration camp (NIC) at Phek as a sign of awareness on “global warming and climatic change”, where Kivito Shohe, district forest officer Phek, the resource person of the day, provided tree saplings from the department of forest. In his speech, Kivito stressed that global warming and climatic change was a phenomenon through out the world and a burning issue, and ranger forest officer, Enyiwekha provided guidance of planting trees to the participants. The DFO planted trees in the opening of the project work followed by the participants who planted more than two hundred trees on the roadside in the town leading to DEO office, and said that the tree plantation done during the NIC at Phek was an exemplary work to our society and to our nation. Andrew EAC Phek took up a session on disaster management NIC at Phek, where he spoke on different kinds of disaster management to the participants. Kapu Mesen, company commander, home guard Phek and his team displayed different kinds of preventive measures, search and rescue operations for disaster management, while Thupuchiyi , associate pastor, Phek town Baptist Church urged the youth to preserve and promote spiritual and moral values.
