APMC Zbto visits vegetable village

Chairman and members of APMC, Zunheboto, has visited the vegetable village established by Department of Horticulture in Keltomi village under Aghunato Sub-division, Zunheboto, on July 2 According to a press release issued by Kitoho S. Rotokha, chairman, APMC, Zunheboto, during their visit to the vegetable village, it was found that potatoes and cabbages were being harvested at 10 MT each along with other vegetables including Kholar which were later disposed off in the local market of Zunheboto town on July 3 and still 70 percent of produces are under harvesting. The release also said department concerned and APMC, Zunheboto, have arranged all necessary seeds suitable for the area with initiatives of group leader, Hetoi Yepthomi, of Kelitomi vegetable village with the farmers and has produced huge quantity of vegetable to meet up the requirement not only for Zunheboto market but have fetched Mokokchung and Dimapur markets since last three years. Earmarked to fetch an estimated amount of Rs.8 lakh in the current harvesting season, Rotokha also said the various vegetable produced in the vegetable village were all organic at the same time added the irrigation and storage facilities were extended by State Horticulture department with cooperation from DRDA, Zunheboto, who constructed the market shed last year.
