Meet on Nakyulum fest; road show

District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Tuensang held its monthly meeting for July at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference hall Tuensang on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Y. L. Jami. During the meeting, the board discussed about the forth coming Nakyulum festival of the Changs and the first road show 2009 at Tuensang, where chief minister Neiphiu Rio and MP Lok Sabha C.M.Chang, would grace the occasion as chief guest and guest of honor respectively. The Board also felicitated Ajo Babu, a student of Holy Cross School Tuensang, one of the HSLC Topper 2009 with cash award of Rs.10, 000 as adopted in the resolution by DPDB last year. The Board also discussed grant-in-aid for Holy Angel School Noklak. New agendas discussed in the meeting included upgradation of new police stations in various headquarters including Shamator, Noklak and Longkhim. The DPDB board also discussed registration of new cultural society at Shamator HQ, recommended by ADC Shamator. Meanwhile, the board chalked out programme for the Nakyulum festival cum road show scheduled for July 30 and 31. Earlier, DC Tuensang Y.L.Jami, exhorted the members to work towards peaceful environment in the district administration and society. He also encouraged Assam Rifles and police department to be more vigilant on the law and order situation in the district.
