Two Bihari workers were shot at by unidentified assailants in separate incidents in Manipur where security forces asked non-Manipuri labourers to work only at some places and avoid interior areas in Imphal West district where security is inadequate. The assailants shot at two labourers identified as Md Kalamudin (24) at Wangbal area in interior Thoubal district and Rajeshchandra Talukdar (20) at D M College petrol pump area near here last night. The condition of the two, who hailed from Assam, was stated to be out of danger, official sources said. They said security officials have advised migrant labourers to work at Khoyathong main road area, RMC road, Jiribam bus parking, Moirangkhom bus parking and Churachandpur bus parking--all in Imphal west district, reported ZeeNews on its website, Wednesday. They have been asked not to work at interior places where security was inadequate. A social organisation of non-Manipuri persons, Hindustani Samaj (Manipur) in a statement said it had also asked the migrant labourers to work at certain places in Imphal where security and police personnel were deployed.
