Vihokhu T20 cricket tourney Dimapur, Jul 9, (NPN): Vihokhu GB’s T20 cricket tournament organized by youth department of Vihokhu Baptist Church would be held from July 13 to July 17 at Vihokhu Local ground. The winner would be awarded with Rs.10,000, 2nd prize would get Rs.7,000 along with a trophy and certificate along with man of the match and series award. NCA informs Kohima, Jul 9 (NPN): The Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) has informed that the top four players in the Nagaland state ‘A’ chess championship 2009 have been selected to represent the state in the 47th national ‘B’ chess championship to be held at Kolkata from August 12-24. The four selected players have been asked to contact the NCA officials for necessary arrangements. Further, the NCA informed the chess players who participated in the Nagaland state ‘A’ ‘B’ and 1st junior chess championships 2009 who wish to participate as donors to the 47th national ‘B’ may contact the NCA officials before July 15. KDTA felicitates Correspondent Kohima, Jul 9 (NPN): Kohima district taekwondo association (KDTA) has congratulated the medal winners of the 22nd Edition of Nagaland state taekwondo championship at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima held on July 2-3. The KDTA acknowledged and congratulated the 31 medalists from Kohima for bringing laurel to the association by claiming the over-all champion’s trophy. The medals include 21 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze medals in different categories. The KDTA further extended gratitude to the NTA for giving a platform to the upcoming Taekwondo aspirants of the State through such championship. The KDTA wished success to all the sub-junior players, nine from Kohima and one from Dimapur who had left to participate in the ensuing 26th national sub-junior taekwondo championship at Vishakapatnam. The team is led by Haoshe Konyak as Team Coach and C. Tiamenla as Team Manager. It also extended its wishes to Sunil Rai of Kohima as he conducts bouts as National referee from Nagaland during the sub-junior championship.
