Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio said that the matter of adoption of the 6th Central Pay Commission recommendations for the State Government employees was presently under consideration with the Government and that a Pay (Fitment) Committee has already been constituted for the purpose. Replying to a starred question at the 4th session of the 11th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Thursday, Rio informed that the Committee was headed by Principal Secretary, P&AR and CEO, C.J. Ponraj IAS. A time frame of two months has been given to work out the modalities, DIPR reported. As the state government does not have resources to meet the additional expenditure which would be implemented, the CM has already taken up the matter with the Central Government to provide assistance for this purpose. Indicating that the issue would be considered sympathetically and a mechanism would be worked out to deal with the matter, Rio said that the implementation shall depend on the quantum of assistance that would be provided by the Central Government.
