Terming the proposed NSF bandh July 10 as direct infringement of the “standing resolution” of Angami Public Organisation (APO), the APO on Thursday said it will oppose the bandh. In a statement issued here, the APO general secretary K Neingunyü Sekhose said the bandh was called without prior information to the APO. It asserted that the proposed NSF programme was deemed as lack of regard and respect to the authority of APO and its standing resolution enacted solely to safeguard the interest of the public. Further, the APO also underlined that any civil body/NGOs that propose public demonstration, rallies, protests or agitation, that could affect the normal life within its jurisdiction, must consult and seek permission from the APO authority. The NSF has called for Kohima closure on July 10 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. by closing down business and commercial establishment. However, pharmacies, hospitals and movement of public and vehicles have been exempted from the strike.
