Landslide in Tuensang destroy houses

Houses and properties at Polounyu ward, below Tobu road, Tuensang has been damaged due to landslides caused by incessant rainfall at around 10: 30 p.m on Friday affecting lives of rural people. According to sources, a house belonging to Elam Chang, a Peon in DC Office Tuensang was completely washed away in the mud slide caused by the landslide. Some two to three houses were damaged by heavy landslide in the adjoining sinking vicinity as the rain continued to pour for the whole day in Tuensang. Properties were reportedly lost in the landslide although there was no report of any human casualty at the time of the incident as the owner was alerted by the cracking of the landslide. Meanwhile, on receiving information, the District Administration led by SDO (C), Police forces and others Public leaders rushed to the spot for further investigation and intervention in the incident. The SDO (C) department has extended financial assistance to the victim and family.
