Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA) Counselor Dr Moa Imsong urged the youth of DABA to understand the value of life partner before uniting through marriage. He was speaking as the resource person at the monthly youth programme organized by youth department, DABA on the theme ‘Choosing the right life partner’ on Saturday at Sinai Café. Taking excerpts from the Bible Dr Moa informed the gathering on what the real meaning of love was and called upon them to introspect how much are they were ready to commit themselves to someone.
He requested the youth to take God’s help in choosing the right partner and pointed out that commitment was for a lifetime. The speaker also exhorted them not to be in hurry in choosing their partner but to be assertive and at the same time stated that partners were never threatening or forceful. “Be triple ready and don’t have unrealistic expectations at the time of marriage”, he said. Later the counselor called upon youth to pray to God so that He would reveal his plans to them in choosing the right life partner. He also cautioned them about consequences of not knowing the will of God which would lead to not realizing one’s dreams and failure after failure.
Meanwhile during the discussion hour on personalities and character that one expected from a partner, one female participant quipped that they expected the man to know how to cook while many of them pointed out his or her life partner should be God fearing.
The programme was attended by more than 30 youth along with youth director, DABA Toshi Longkumer and assistant youth director, Jungshimanen.
