Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Maongwati Aier, through a press communiqué has reiterated its earlier order of banning ‘any kind’ of illegal collections and taxes.
DC in a press release stated that stringent action would be initiated against the violators of the order at the same time would be prosecuted as per the provision of the laws.
Deputy Commissioner said the order has been issued after receiving that different unions, associations and ‘underground’ factions were collecting and imposing illegal donations and taxes to the trucks and commercial vehicles and business establishments which was effecting the economic life of general public and also maintenance of law and order in the district.
Further, DC Dimapur, in a separate communiqué has also taken note of complaints which was received that police personnel and other departmental staff were also involved in collecting fees/taxes on trucks and commercial vehicles at various check gates despite banning by Nagaland government.
DC, Dimapur, through the communiqué has informed that any individual violating the order would be arrested and prosecuted as per the provision of laws and incase of government servants, disciplinary action would be initiated against the erring staff following suspension from the service.
