ENPO on Ladigarh issue

Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has resolved to urge the state government to ‘urgently’ take up the Ladigarh issue with neighbouring state of Assam. ENPO in a press statement issued by its president Y. Mangko Phom and general secretary –cum- chairman Border Affairs and Natural Resources, Management Committee Toshi Wungtung stated that besides Ladigarh, there were huge tracks of resourceful and highly fertile Naga territory/land along the foothills bordering Assam which were yet to be officially transferred to the state of Nagaland as per the Agreement between the government of India, Naga people at the time of formation of the State of Nagaland under the 16 Point Agreement, “whereas its coherent fundamental provisions had also been amended under Article 371(A) of the constitution of India, and hence constitution and legal.” ENPO stated government of Assam had objected to settling up of polling booth by state government at the last parliamentary elections (Lok Sabha).
