GPRN/NSCN ‘Ato Kilonser’, N Kitovi Zhimomi has asserted that the “Indo-Naga” issue was a political issue and therefore only a political solution acceptable to the Nagas shall be pursued and that there should not be any confusion in it. According to a press release issued by the publicity cell of the GPRN/NSCN, Zhimomi was interacting with the Western Sumi GBs, Pastors, village elders and members of the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH), Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH), Western Sumi Totimi Hoho (WSTH) Western Sumi Bapstist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) and Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) on June 22 at the GPRN/NSCN designated camp, Khehoi. More than 2000 invitees turned up for the interactive session which was called by the ‘Ato Kilonser.’ Zhimomi said the need of the hour was the unity of the Nagas irrespective of tribe or region if materialization of political solution acceptable to the Nagas was to be pursued. He pointed out that the fullest co-operation towards the process of reconciliation and unity initiated by Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) was the testimony of GPRN/NSCN’s commitment towards the journey of common hope. The publicity cell said that Zhimomi appreciated the contribution and commitment of the Western Sumis towards the righteous cause of the Nagas. He appealed the Western Sumi people to be firmly on guard against wrong politics and impractical ideologies. Directing his speech towards the Naga Army, Zhimomi said revolutionaries were the agents of the people and therefore every member must reflect their strength and commitment towards the cause. The ‘Ato Kilonser’ also cautioned erring officials whose actions contradicted the common desire of the Nagas to change their ways. Meanwhile, the publicity cell informed that the interactive session ended with the adoption of a resolution by Western Sumi people to firmly support the unification of all Nagas. It said that the resolution also reaffirmed full support to the FNR towards achieving Naga unity and reconciliation. Speaking to Nagaland Post, a member of the publicity cell GPRN/NSCN said the ‘Ato Kilonser’ has scheduled similar meetings with all tribes and sections of society in the coming weeks.
