The Summer Internship Programme’2009 (SIP) of ICFAI University, Nagaland, concluded on June 27 with a valedictory function attended by executives of various business organizations, students and the staff of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. C.P. Alexander, Principal, ICFAI University, Nagaland, said the purpose of such internship was to impart tacit knowledge on work culture of various business establishments which also helps in adding a new dimension to the University-Industry interface.
He expressed gratitude to the executives of business establishments, cooperative societies, IT industry, and banks for permitting his students in carrying out their internship programme.
Dr. Alexander further pointed out that SIP was of mutual benefit to the students and to the company as the students could generate some revenue for the company where they did their internship.
SIP coordinator, Wapangsenla Imchen, delved into various aspects of SIP including time management, hands-on experience on sales and marketing and human resource Management.
The MBA students also spoke on their experiences as intern while the industry personnel expressed their happiness in guiding the students.
Commending on the overall traits of ICFAI students, the general remark given by the executives was that “the University has groomed them very well”.
It may be mentioned here that the University was established in Nagaland under section 4 (2) of ICFAI University Nagaland Act, 2006. At present, the admission to various courses such as BBA, BCA, and MBA are underway.
