Extremely disturbed at the reiteration of earlier threat which was allegedly issued by “Lt. Col (Rtd) Kiyekhu Awomi, member of National political Advisory Council of NSCN (K)” to additional chief secretary, Banuo Z Jamir and other senior officers of the state, the IAS Officers’ Association (IOA) Saturday condemned such intimidation to individual officers and demanded Kiyekhu to withdraw his threats immediately. In a joint statement issued here today, the IOA members including Lalthara, HK Khulu, Tohsi Aier, CJ Ponraj, Mhathung Kithan, Temjen Toy, KK Sema, Sentiyange Imchenr, Ayamo Jami, Imkonglemba, Neihu Thur, M Yanthan, KT Sukhalu, TC Sangtam, Norman Putsure, Meilema, B Thawang Konyak, Abijit Sinha, Dinesh Kumar, Daniel Longchar and Abhishek Prakash said that officers have been discharging their bona fide duties in the interest of the people of Nagaland despite difficult circumstances. The association expressed firm belief that weeding out bogus teachers was in the interest of the future generation of the people. “Such an effort requires active support of all the right thinking people and any attempt to obstruct such an initiative would be tantamount to being anti people,” the IOA signatories stated.
