TPO recalls encroacher-members

Members of the Tenyimi People’s Organization (TPO) have recalled its members, other than Beisumpuikam villagers, who were encroaching land inside the Intangki National Park (INP). TPO, information & publicity secretary, S.Daiho Rajüte in a statement said the decision to recall its members was taken during a joint meeting of the TPO and presidents of all its constituent units held at the Conclave Conference Hall on Friday. A resolution adopted during the meeting also requested all the unit presidents to take the initiative and responsibility in recalling their respective members, if any, from encroachment inside Intangki National Park, as early as possible. The meeting also resolved to undertake a goodwill mission to NC Hills comprising of TPO office bearers and representatives of all the TPO constituent units, as soon as possible. The TPO said it proposed to meet Assam government, NC Hills district administration and also NGOs and frontal organization of the Dimasa community over the issue of the ongoing turmoil in NC Hills.
