A scheme titled Nutritional Scheme to Women Living with HIV and AIDS has been launched to reach out to the 1400 reported cases of women living with HIV and AIDS in Nagaland and inorder to give nutritional provisions to HIV and AIDS patients besides medication support. A programme under the Department of Women Development, the scheme was formally launched on June 6 during the Road Show at Longleng. Under the programme, rice, dal and vegetable ghee would be allotted to beneficiaries.
To avail the nutritional support, all women living with HIV and AIDS in the state from households living Below Poverty Line (BPL) have been informed to register themselves with the district level networks of NNP+. For Mon and Longleng districts, affected women have been requested to register their names to the Yingli Mission organization at Longleng and Walo Organization at Mon.
The department has assured that appropriate coding system would be adopted to protect confidentiality of clients.
