LES changes nomenclature DIMAPUR: Nomenclature of Lotha Ekhum Shillong (LES) has been changed to Kyong Ekhum Shillong. According to Kyong Ekhum Shillong President N. Lichamo Jami, LES was established in 1979 and have been functioning as a unit fellowship under Naga Christian Fellowship, Shillong. The decision to change its nomenclature was unanimously decided at Kyong (Lotha) Ekhum Shillong general meeting held on July18 at Naga Community Hall Shillong. NCP 58 youth wing new president DIMAPUR: Tuensang district unit of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Youth wing, at a meeting on June 21 at Tuensang Town has unanimously elected Kihoto Chessore, former president, BJP Youth Wing 58 Shamator-Chassore Constituency as president, NCP Youth wing, 58 Shamator-Chassore constituency. This was informed in a press release issued by Thrünso Yim, President, Tuensang district. Kekhrie troupe awareness campaign DIMAPUR: An awareness campaign on swine flu, consumer vector boned diseases and population control was conducted at Kohima and Phek districts on July 16 as part of ‘World Population Day’ by Kekhrie Troupe of Nagaland and M/S Manipur Cultural Troupe, Senapati Bazaar, Manipur. This was stated in a PIB release. CTC stresses on road safety DIMAPUR: Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) in view of various report of road accidents taking place within its jurisdiction due to reckless driving, has requested all to drive their vehicles as per prescribed speed limit in town areas for safety of all. According to a press release issued by CTC chairperson, Neichu-u Kuotsu, the persons have also been requested to initiate in minimizing and checking haphazard driving which claimed life and property. NPF Kiphire lauds road maintenance DIMAPUR: NPF Kiphire has extended its appreciation in regard to the workmanship of black topping, carpeting and maintenance of NH-155 which stretches 17 Km. NPF Kiphire, general secretary, S. Tongpise, in a press release has also suggested scrutinizing of offers to reputed firms and contractor’s corporation for the benefit of the public. Preparations on for Nakyulum fest TUENSANG: Hectic preparations are underway for celebration of Nakyulum festival of Chang tribes cum 2nd State Road Show scheduled on July 30 and 31. In this regard, the Chang Khulie Sethsang (CKS) has informed all citizens of Chang outside and within Tuensang including officers, retired and people of the community to attend the event.
