Potato farm school inaugurated in Khuzama village

Potato Farm School was inaugurated at Khuzama village under Jakhama Block on July 18 by T. Wabang Longkumer Fishery Demonstrator and BTT Convener FIAC, Jakhama Block. BTT Convener T. Wabang Longkumer delivered the key note address and spoke about the concept of farm school while short speech was delivered by Neichukho BTT Member, Holesul Kin Khuzama village. Kevihokiel Kin, achiever farmer/ farmer teacher who is into potato farming also spoke at the occasion. A press release issued by BTT Convener Jakhama Block T. Wabang Longkumer stated, potato culture was an age old practice, and varieties of potatoes like local (Khüda) 4 months seeds (Khrüsoru) 6 months seeds was sowed. Khuzama potato farmers’ annual production is about 250 M.T to 300 M.T, and around 150 M.T to 200 M.T are exported to neighboring states and 50 M.T are supplied to Kohima and Dimapur. Inauguration of farm school was sponsored by ATMA Kohima.
