Tizit farmers, BTT tour Jorhat and Sikkim

The Agriculture Management Agency Mon organised a two day exposure trip for the tea growing farmers of Tizit area on July 15 and 16. Altogether 16 farmers and two Block Technology Team (BTT) members visited Assam Agriculture University, and tea garden. Farmers were shown different techniques and methods for cultivation. Meanwhile, exposure tour for BTT conveners and members organised by Agriculture Technology Management Agency concluded July 16. Altogether seven officials representing all six blocks visited Gangtok, Sikkim. The team visited center of excellence, Ramtek where they interacted with the Deputy Director in charge of the centre. The team visited their farm where Front Line Demonstrations on maize and system of Rice Intensification (SRI) were on trial. Block Technology Team convenor Wochamo Patton in a press release stated that the visiting teams were briefed on various extension programmes undertaken by Agriculture Technology Management Agency and SAMETI. Besides visiting ICAR Gangtok, where Research Associate, Department of Agronomy dwelt on various researchers undertaken by ICAR, the team visited some tourist spots.
