The monthly district planning development board meeting of Zunheboto district was conducted on July 24 at DCs Conference Hall under the chairmanship of ADC Zunheboto, Bhuton Konyak.
Agenda for grant of fund for Kheloshe Polytechnic under development of small and medium towns at Polytechnic Atoizu and Akhuhaito EAC Hq was deliberated and recommended for government action. Medical Sub-center at Luthusumi village and Kheltomi village was also recommended. Grant-in-aid to St. Augustine School, Zunheboto and King David School Asukhuto was recommended for early action. Restoration of BDO post at Akhuhaito was deliberated and forwarded to government for necessary action. Proposal for EAC Hq at Naltoqa was recommended as it was reported to have fulfilled the necessary criteria. District Sports Council also apprised the board about the various drawbacks in sending sportspersons to the state level due to financial constraints.
The vice chairman and secretary, Sport Council urged the elected members of the district to assist the Council in whichever way possible. Later LADP schemes 2009-10 were approved by the board.
Parliamentary Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Dr. K.C. Nihoshe addressing the meeting impressed upon heads of offices to prepare proposals for the year 2010-11 and to submit them before September. He also informed that road show will be organized during Ahuna festival on November 14 and 15 at Zunheboto, with Power, Election, R&B and Industries and commerce departments as nodal departments for the Road Show. For the first time the Khiamniungam tribe will also participate at the festival.
