New district transport office building at Tsg

The inauguration of the District Transport Office new office building in Tuensang was held on July 23 with parliamentary secretary, transport and communication P. Dako Phom as chief guest. The Chief Guest in his inaugural speech said the new office building was an accomplishment of the government as well as of the department, which was meant for welfare of Tuensang people. The chief guest while exhorting the staff of transport department said, “Work is worship and said that one should discharge their duties sincerely and honestly since worshipping God and neglecting duty, is neglecting worship.” He added that serving people was serving God and performing one’s duty can bring blessings. He also said that Transport department is the revenue earning department and the Government was ready to give help based on departmental achievements. He urged the staff to obey their superiors and extend co-operation to one another. According to an official bulletin Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Y.L. Jami in his speech said the achievement of constructing a new office building is the government’s vision for welfare of the people and also the purpose of the transport department. Therefore, the duty of the department is to utilize the opportunity and generate revenue for the government since people themselves are the government. He also encouraged the people to change their attitude and mindset and reform themselves for a positive change and betterment of the district. The programme was chaired by Secretary, Transport & Communication, M. Yanthan, IAS, while a brief report regarding the new building was presented by Executive Engineer, Akuto Wotsa. The welcome address was proposed by Joint TPT Commissioner, H. Achumi while vote of thanks and presentation was rendered by DTO, S.Y. Sanglee while the new building dedication prayer was pronounced by Pastor, TTBC, Sangket.
