Responding to a letter addressed to the state assembly secretariat by P.S. to Congress legislator K.V.Pusa, secretary NLA Mr A.E.Lotha clarified that the reports on the proceedings of the recently held assembly session had not been transcribed by the reporters of the assembly owing to ongoing meetings of the Public Accounts and Public Undertakings Committees. In his letter Lotha also clarified that after transcription , speeches of members were first forwarded to them for authentication to be returned to the assembly before incorporating them in the proceedings. In view of the above, Lotha asserted that implicating the Assembly Secretariat for leakage of the proceedings to private individuals was “not tenable and contrary to the fact”. Further, Lotha also stated that the Assembly Secretariat had no idea about the address or telephone numbers of persons that appeared in one local daily. It may be pointed out that the local daily, had published a news submitted by certain persons with telephone numbers as stated above, alleging that Congress legislator K.V. Pusa had made highly derogatory remarks against some community, while participating in the discussions on the floor of the house at the recently concluded budget session.
