Amidst overwhelming enthusiastic audience Ustad Roje Khan Mangniar and his ‘Thar Lok Kala Sansthan’ of Rajasthan brought out a stunning performance of Rajasthan folk forms on Sunday evening at Sainik School, Punglwa.
The evening was marked by never-ever-heard melody of Rajasthani ancestral music blended with the tapping-feet sounds and sways of traditional dance forms mainly through the famous Langas-Manganiars folk music, Kalbeliya dance and Bhavai dance.
This internationally reputed troupe has performed over 40 countries in the world including USA, Germany, France, Holland, Russia and Japan and it was definitely a boon and an unique opportunity to this audience comprising of the cadets, staff and families of Sainik School, Punglwa, officers and staff families from 20 Assam Rifles and the residents of Punglwa village including the elderly citizens.
Without an iota of doubt in the minds of the audience, as the principal Gp Capt B Janardhanan, the music and dance of the evening emerged to re-assure in them as the unifying or bonding factor of the human beings setting aside all the man-made farce differences among us.
This programme was organised under the aegis of Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPICMACAY).
