Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima and Christian Youth Endeavour observed Youth Day of Prayer under the theme, ‘Believe & Live’ on July 25 to 26 at its church premise. Youth Day of Prayer was a programme initiated by Nagaland Baptist Church Council to observe a day to pray for Naga youth.
In a press release issued by Thejotalu Nakroh, speakers of the programme included youth associate pastor, Vezopa Rhakho and youth director, Minister Hill Chakhesang Baptist Church, Thejoneyi Veswh, pianists Rhuvi Venuh and Pute Losou and conductor Vedukhol Dawhou and Akha Chzho.
Meanwhile a debate on the topic, ‘Should church involve in politics?’ and extempore speech was held on Saturday, where For the motion group won the debate, Pute Losou (For the motion) and Kevethito Rose (Against) were adjudged best debaters.
Anuzo Vadeo took first position in the extempore speech, while Zhosato and Mhasisanuo Dozo clinched 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Tsekhrole T. Mero bagged 1st position in the Bible recitation with action, while Vevonl Ringa and Sevel Lohe got 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The judges in the competition were Avonou Dozo, Jenny Veyie and Vetso Koza. A word of encouragement was delivered by Theja Therie.
The two days prayer meet were chaired by Metsevel Tetseo, Rovi Wazah and Kruhizo Dozo, while Sekhotal Dawhuo, Apele Demo, Ral Lohe and Esther presented a special number each, scripture readers were Ethel Mero, Azpele Tshah and Nthil Vadeo. Praise and worship was led by Jesus Freak United.
