KHE conducts Chess coaching camp

As part of its ‘capacity building programme’ Kyong Hungjantaren Ekhung (KHE) Wokha, for the first time conducted a chess coaching camp at LMS School, Wokha Saturday. Altogether 95 students from standard V to college students from various schools and colleges and 13 school teachers attended the camp where they were given free chess boards. Er. Mhonlumo Kikon, former general secretary of Nagaland Chess Association who was the resource person in the camp demonstrated the game of chess through computerized to the participants and also distributed free materials and CD to the participants. Earlier, KHE Sports secretary Nzanbemo Jami chaired the function and LMS School proprietor while Yanren Tungoe pronounced the invocation prayer. KHE chairman Y.Likhao Humtsoe welcoming the guests and participants urged them to cultivate chess as a vocation and gave the example of the renowned international Grand master Vishwanathan Anand. Stating that those students who play chess have got higher IQ and perform better than other in their academic career, the chairman KHE said that this chess coaching camp will culminate into Wokha District chess competition. Meanwhile, KHE thanked all the schools/ colleges for their participation and also to Er. Solomon Solo, proprietor LMS School, headmasters, principals, hostel wardens and parents for their contributon in making the camp a successful one.
