The 12th freshers meet of New Life Bible College (NLBC) was held Tuesday with Hekali Zhimomi IAS, Director, North East Zone Cultural Centre as special guest.
Delivering her message to the freshers, Hekali emphasized on the importance of beginning afresh, building a relationship with God and importance of looking at possibilities of life in serving God and society.
She said that old habit and attitudes which destruct the life of people was not so inappropriate in God’s presence.
She added that some people had tendency of addiction to habits which may not be so big, but would hamper in the long run and urged the students to examine oneself while making a decision in serving the Lord.
Stressing on personal relationship with God, she expressed relationship with God could be built through reading the Word of God as everything was revealed in the Bible.
She also encouraged the students to look at the possibilities of life and not to be distracted by negative elements. Looking at Naga society, she asserted things might not be in a position as people expect. However, she said one should believe and look ahead to change the life of many people and build a peaceful society.
Hekali also urged the students to subject to the authority of God, rules and respect the authority so as to have a peaceful mind and receive the blessings of God.
Calling upon the students to fulfill the expectation of the society, she opined that there would be many challenges lying ahead but one should face the difficulties with trust in God as he is the best employer with all resources and would cater all the needs. She further expressed her expectation from the students to change the society and make a difference in fulfilling the purpose of God.
Earlier in the programme, the welcome address was delivered by Xashepu Wotsa, founder principle of New Life Bible college and vote of thanks was proposed by the Principal of the college, Pusuinla. Cultural items were also presented by the students to welcome the freshers.
