PHQ siren creates panic in Kma

Citizens of state capital (Kohima) was put on alarm when the siren at state PHQ went off abnormally Wednesday afternoon.
The siren, which normally sets off to alert the citizen indicating 8 o’clock every morning, was heard blaring for about a minute at around 2:15 p.m. in the afternoon. Later, on query, the officials from the PHQ disclosed that siren was set off to gather the staff for a farewell programme of one senior police officer who was going on retirement.
A farewell programme for outgoing ADG Bendang was proposed to be held at PHQ today, however since the DGP K.Kire was engaged in the meeting on Law and Order situation in Kohima, the staffs of PHQ were waiting for DGP’s arrival to start the function.
It was learnt that PHQ officials for the purpose of gathering the staff for function decided to use the siren.
Meanwhile, the PHQ official has also said that siren could be put to use for any emergency satiations in the future.
