Child educators trained on Christian values

22 Sunday school teachers from various parts of the state successfully completed the Children Educators’ Training conducted for one month at Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) campus in Kohima. A valedictory service of the training was held Thursday. Speaker at the service, Dr. Sanyü Iralu, principal of Shalom Bible Seminary, spoke on growth towards spiritual maturity. He said spiritual maturity was the hallmark of Christian life and every Christian needed to make spiritual progress. He encouraged the trainees to keep growing as they move out from training centre. Secretary of Communication and Education, NBCC Evangeline, gave a report on CET programme. She apprised that training was conducted with an aim to equip key persons in the association and churches, to equip teachers to be effective channel in imparting Christian education. The topics taken up during the training course included ‘history and holistic development of child’, leaders and teachers, doctrine, child evangelism, effective teaching and communication, music, kids game, administration, etc. Resource persons included leaders from the church, education sector, etc. The trainees also underwent practical ministry to various churches. Earlier at the programme, songs were presented by CET trainees and children of Ao Baptist Church Kohima. Rev. R.P. Murry presented certificates to the trainees; while Pastor Thungchibemo and Tolibo, both trainees, delivered speeches. The programme was chaired by Pfelie, board chairman. The valedictory programme was attended by church leaders and officials from NBCC.
