Planning Commission has decided to propose the North Eastern Council (NEC) to send a special team from NE to the state for an on-the-spot study of the development works implemented by the state government here. Acording to a UNI report, a five-member team, led by Planning Commission Advisor Feroza Mehrotra, visited a number of projects in the state during her two-day visit and appreciated the government for successfully implementing a number of development projects. “‘The NEC must send a special team from other NE states for making an on-the-spot study about the implementation of the development projects by the Tripura government,” Mehrotra opined, adding she will submit a proposal to the NEC in this regard. The Central team also visited new capital complex and rural housing complex at Kunjaban near the capital complex among others. In her reply to the question about migration of labourers and experts for construction purposes, state government officials said there was a serious dearth of experts and hence it is necessary to bring such workers from outside the state.
