Newly sworn-in Governor of Nagaland, Gurbchan Jagat and his lady wife Mrs. Kiran Jagat paid a visit to 2nd World war cemetery, Kohima on Friday.
In the visitor book of Commonwealth the Governor wrote: “A most solemn and dignified silence pervades in tribute to the fallen- I join in paying homage to the fallen and resting”.
In the visitor book of Assam Rifles he wrote: “It is a place which evokes both sad and proud memories-sad because of the human toll, proud because of the glorious of the Indian Army My salute to both the fallen and serving officer of men for whose valour no words suffice”.
Later, the governor also laid a wreath in homage to the brave heroes who fought the battle of Kohima and laid their lives for our today.
Earlier, the Governor of Nagaland and Manipur, along with his wife had also paid a visit to the State Museum, Kohima on Thursday where they were taken on a tour by the officials of the Directorate of Art & Culture.
