United colony Council condoles
Dimapur: The United Colony Council ward number 2, Dimapur has condoled the sudden demise of Mhonchumo Humtsoe, GB of United Colony on July 25. The council in a press release described the deceased as a prominent social worker, who served the colony in various capacities and contributed for the welfare of the colony. The council also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and has prayed for the deceased.
Free detox camp conducted
Dimapur: The 6th free detox camp organized by CAD foundation was conducted from July13 to 27 at fellowship colony, Dimapur. According to general secretary CAD foundation, out of twenty enrolments only eighteen persons successfully completed the treatment at the camp.
Other activities at the camp included; health check up, abscess management/treatment, medication, Yoga, recreational activities, counseling and input sessions.
Lions Club Dimapur clarifies
DIMAPUR: Secretary of Lions Club Dimapur, Lion R.K.Mundra has clarified Lion Rajendra Khadaria was appointed as advisor to Dist. 322D and not as advisor to the Dist. Governor of Dist. 322D as mentioned in a local daily on August 2.
CSD inform shopkeepers
DIMAPUR: The Consumer Society Dimapur (CSD) has informed all vendors not to use cups or ‘dapas’ as measuring weight as it was inaccurate and less than the kg measurement and the rate higher than the fixed rate. CSD through a press statement by its president, Vinito Chophy, has also informed that all hotels, tea stalls, restaurants and other eating joints should use commercial gas cylinders as per govt. order Vide-2006 and domestic gas cylinders should not be used for any commercial purpose. It stated that any defaulters would result in their goods being seized as per the law. It further informed that sale of all kinds of gutkha (talab, tez, 1000 etc.) are strictly and that the shop license of defaulters would be cancelled.
New Lions Club in Guwahati
DIMAPUR: Lions club has felicitated everyone on occasion of friendship day. A release issued by Lion Neraaj Kala PRO Lions Club Dimapur has stated that a new Lions club has come to the city of Guwahati named Lions Club Guwahati Care which was inaugurated on July 27 by District Governor Lion Mandira Chanda MJF at hotel Nandan sponsored by Lions Club of Dimapur. The new club’s activities will be mainly focused on environmental services for which club has already identified two places ie. Guwahati University Campus and ISBT compound for plantation of trees and flowers in consultation with renowned Globe Nursery, Kolkata. Lions Club Guwahati Care will be part of Lions Club International, the world’s largest service club organization with nearly 46,000 clubs, and 1.4 million men and women as members in 205 countries. This global network will allow the new Lion’s club to reach out to needy people throughout the world.
