Despite repeated appeal to clear the road blockade between Khudei-Noksen, about 70 km covering nearly 16 villages including, Noksen and Ngongchung administrative headquarters in Tuensang district , the people of this rural area remained cut-off for the past one and half months owing to heavy landslide and mudflow. Sangyuchung Range Union (SRU) president Among Chang and executive chairman S Khoneyimjong a joint press release lamented that though the road was more than two decades old so far there has not been any positive sign of improvement from authorities. The union also said that the only lifeline of Noksen and Ngongchung area was no better than Agri link road when compared to other districts in Nagaland. The public are facing a lot of difficulties in transportation and meeting socio-economic needs because of road blockage, it stated. Further, the area public has urged the state government for an early solution to the blocked road in the interest of general public and in order to create a congenial and peaceful environment between people and government.
