WATSAN meet cum workshop
DIMAPUR: All WATSAN Committee chairman (Communitized 2008-09) have been informed that there would be a joint meeting cum workshop on August 4 at 11 am in the office of Subongtemsu, executive engineer (PHED) rural division, Dimapur.
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (DSSU) has convened a meeting on August 5, 10 am in the union banker’s residence Notun basti. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
DKSU Freshers day
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Kyong Students’ Union (DKSU) will hold its combined Freshers’ cum parting social meet on Sept 12 at Lotha Hoho Ki. All those who secured 1st division in HSLC or HSSLC this year have been asked to submit a xerox copy of their mark sheet and submit names for Mr. and Miss Freshers’ before August 13.
LVSU executive meeting
DIMAPUR: An executive meeting of Lotsu Village Students’ Union (LVSU) has been convened on August 8 at 11 am at the residence of its vice president. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
DIMAPUR: An executive meeting of Kangtsung Students’ Union (KKT) would be held on August 9 at 5 pm at the residence of KKT treasurer. All KKT executive members and senior members have been requested to attend the meeting.
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association (NPBCA) has convened an emergency meeting on August 6, 5 p.m at the centre. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
DIMAPUR: Sugar Mill Village Council (SMVC) as per the resolution adopted in the meeting held on July 16 has convened and emergency meeting on August 11, 10 a.m at council hall premises. All tribal hohos, unions and general public of sugar mill village have been requested to attend the meeting.
ANCSU organizing committee meet
KOHIMA: The 4th organizing committee meeting of the All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) for the 14th biennial general conference would be held on August 7 at 2.00 pm at NSF conference hall. All the committee convenor and members have been asked to attend the meeting.
KSUK general meeting
KOHIMA: The Konyak Students Union Kohima (KSUK) informed that it would be holding the 26th freshers’ social meet cum general meeting on August 8 at 10.00 am at KBCK, Church premises (Midland). All Konyak Students residing in and around Kohima have been requested to attend the programme, failing which, they would be penalized as per the resolution, added the release.
NSF reminder on
Dimapur: The Naga Students’ Federation has once again reminded the Addl. chief secretary school education about the exigent memorandum vis-à-vis the 60 newly upgraded Govt. Middle Schools last year. A joint release issued by the NSF president and the general secretary stated that that govt initiatives to appoint teachers randomly and through the ‘back door appointments’ was against quality education and expectations and desires of the NSF . The release asked not to procrastinate on the implementation of the points of interest as suggested in the Exigent Representation as “Justice delayed is justice denied.” It further urged for all points mentioned in the representation to be incorporated during the recruitment process adding that further delay in implementation will lead to democratic course of action as an alternative method to achieve genuine interest for which the NSF will not would not be held responsible.
Zeliangrong Hoho Dmu meet calls for peace
DIMAPUR: Zeliangrong Hoho Dimapur in a meeting on July 31 along with all its frontal organizations, Zeliangrong elders, youth leaders and general public deliberated on issues relating to Zeliangrong people. The meeting discussed on unity and integrity of the Zeliangrong and reaffirmed to commit the decision made at Kaisamthing in 1947 where Zeliangrong pledged to live as one family. The meeting reconstituted Zeliangrong Hoho Dimapur into Zeliangrong Baudi Dimapur and unanimously elected its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2009-12 headed with Zengdibo Meriamai as president and N. Diswang Hau as secretary. Retaliating to stand by the decision of the Zeliangrong people to protect Ntangki National Park from land encroachers, the meeting also lauded the bold step taken by the state government, Naga Hoho, national government and the Nagas in evicting the land encroachers for the larger interest of the Nagas. The meeting also expressed concern over the NC Hills turmoil and stated that root cause of the violence originated from the proposal to change NC Hills district into Dima Hasao Raji (Dimasa Kingdom) which was unacceptable to Nagas and non-Dimasas. The baudi in a press note issued by its president Zengdibo Meriamai and secretary, N. Diswang Hau also called upon the Dimasas to respect the Naga traditional hospitality and urged both the parties to shun from violence so as to maintain the old aged traditional relationship between the Nagas and Dimasas where they co-existed peacefully for ages.
DIMAPUR: Department of health and family welfare Phek district CMO has informed that immunization week would be held in Phek from August 10 to 15. All female health worker nurses have been requested to be in their stations and perform their duty.
