NSGWEA meet venue change DIMAPUR: Nagaland Senior Government Servant Welfare Association (NSGWEA) meeting scheduled to be held on August 5, 11 a.m has changed the venue from Zonal council hall to state academy hall Kohima. Alumni night-cum- variety show KOHIMA: The government middle school, Mezoma would be organizing its first alumni night-cum-variety show at its “Hall of wisdom” on August 7 from 5pm onwards. Er. Neisivilie Lhousa, Appraisal Officer, HUDCO, Nagaland and Dr. Vizokholie Kehie, Medical Officer, Wanghcing, Mon would be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. The school and the organizers have invited all its alumni and well wishers to attend the occasion. St Francis Xavier’s sales day KOHIMA: St Francis Xavier’s Church GH. Kedima would hold its sales day on August 5 at Super Market complex, Kohima. All well wishers and health conscious people have been requested to avail the opportunity. AR firing practice DIMAPUR: The 41st Assam Rifles, Wokha would carry out firing practice, small arm firing Range at Wokha from August 3 to 31 from 8 am to 5 pm. According to an official bulletin, the firing practice will be carried out 3 days in a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All residents and villagers have been requested to keep away from the firing range to avoid any loss or injuries to human lives, livestock and materials. 173 BN CRPF observes raising day DIMAPUR: Along with other states, 173 BN CRPF, Nagaland observed 5th Raising Day on August 2 at Dimapur. A fair mela was organized with Khekaho Assumi, DMC chairperson as chief guest while Y. Hewoto Awomi, MLA was the chief guest for the cultural function. The chief guests of the programme lauded Balaram Shil, commandant and Sh. Aswini Jha, deputy commandant and the jawans of 173 Bn for organizing the programme. According to A.K Aswini Jha, deputy commandant, 173 Bn CRPF, the chief guest Hewoto donated a cash award of Rs. 50,000 to the battalion. DIG (OPS), Kohima, PM Ramalingam was also present on the occasion. Ganja seized DIMAPUR: Personnel of GRPS, Dimapur on Monday evening, 5.15 pm, seized 46 kilos of ganja from two person named Sukon Thonda (25), Murshidabad, (WB) and Hasina Bibi (30), West Bengal. According to police sources, the accused were trying to carry the contraband in a suit case neatly packet to West Bengal. Naharbari village council informs DIMAPUR: Naharbari Village Council (NVC) has informed the public that the council has recovered an abandoned auto-rickshaw under the village jurisdiction on August 2. NVC has said that the auto-rickshaw is kept at the office premises of the council and informed the rightful owner to come with relevant documents to claim the auto-rickshaw within 30 days from the date of publication. The council has also informed the owner to contact the council office at 9436012147. Teachers verification in Tuensang DIMAPUR: The District Education Officer, Tuensang has informed all teachers appointed from 2002 till date or transferred to appear physically for verification on August 5 at 9 am at the DEO’s office for secondary teachers and DIS office for elementary section along with 2 passport size photos, original appointment ordered, latest extension order, transfer and release order if transferred, death certificate if appointed against death, educational qualification from matriculation onwards with attested copies.
