Asserting on the working system of Nagaland University (NU), Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) Tuesday said it was inopportune for the student community and public that NU which came into being in 1994 was still unfolded with corruption, maladministration and mismanagement. A Naga Students’ Federation press release issued by its general secretary O Wati Jamir said the academic welfare of the student community was neglected between “politics of nepotism, favoritism and incompetence” within the set up. Stating that it took strong view of NUTA’s ultimatum, with regard to recent appointment of teaching and non-teaching staff in the university, NSF has urged NU to rectify the “anomalies and favouritism” in the appointment immediately “as such tactic was uncalled for and tantamount to prejudice on the part of the university.” Naga Students’ Federation further pointing out that it took strong exception to the “deeds” of NU authorities, said in the event of the authority’s failure to correspond with authentic justification, the responsible authority would be held responsible.
