All Zeliangrong Students Union (AZSU) expressed resentment and condemned the killings of innocents, destruction of property in NC Hills since March 2009, and the reign of terror unleashed by the DHD (J). AZSU, general secretary, Nchaheing Kompoing stated in a release that in spite of the presence of 65,000 security personnel in the “strife torn Hill district”, killing still continued unabated. He also stated that the Dimasa militants have been moving freely with arms in connivance with the Indian security forces under the “pretext of local guide” attacking the “unarmed and innocent” Zeliangrong Nagas. On July 31, Haidauhingbe Nriame, 69 years was shot dead by the Dimasa militants while working in his Jhum field, and Kisaningle Zeme, 17 years, was shot dead in broad day light in Halflong town on August 1 stated a press release. It further added that the deployment of huge security forces in NC Hills to normalize the situation have made the Dimasa militants “aggravate it like a wolf in sheep clothing”.
