After the downpour that disrupted the proceedings of the budget session earlier, it was the heat that continued to disrupt the proceedings on the last budget session Monday. With the soaring temperature and humidity, members of the house as well as the bureaucrats and visitors were seen fanning themselves throughout the session with all sorts of papers in their hands. Some of the members of the house including chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy speaker Ralanthung and other members and bureaucrats were seen peeling off their coats and fanning with papers to beat the heat. Opposition Leader, Chingwang Konyak later reminded the Speaker that the other day the proceedings of the house was disrupted by rain and now it was the heat. He urged the speaker to take necessary measures and make sure that the assembly hall was installed with soundproof and ACs before the next assembly session was held. The prestigious Assembly Hall does not lack the facilities of air conditioner and sound proof, but poor sound system continues to haunt successive assembly session. Authorities seemed to remain adamant to the problem despite being pointed out every successive assembly session. Nagaland Assembly Hall also still lacks several other modern facilities such as the earphone, camera proceedings and live video display on TV screens or even live sounds systems of the house proceedings installed in different halls outside the main assembly hall including both the Ruling and Opposition lobby rooms, Committee rooms and also the press room.
